The Sonnenplatz development in Großschönau is Europe’s 1st development where you can try out the advantages of living in a passive house for yourself, not just for a few minutes or a couple of hours, but for a number of days at a time.

This unique opportunity gives you the time to experience the feeling of living in a passive house. You can learn how the heating and ventilation systems work, and experience the positive feel-good effects that these systems have on the climate inside a passive house.

Probewohnen® in a passive house is an experience for the whole family. Up to 6 people can be accommodated in our passive houses, which also have their own facilities to cater for your health and wellbeing. The atmosphere is pleasant and snug in the passive house village, and at the generous natural lake swimming area and the show gardens that have been designed to harmonise with the local natural environment.

We want to allow you to experience just what it is like to live in a passive house. In addition to the obvious comfort, you should also gain an all-round feeling of well-being!

ALL THE INFORMATION IN ONE VILLAGE

The show-home area offers a range of architectural and technical variations on the theme of green construction. Our own technology centre is intended to explain how the heat and power consumption works, as well as revealing other “trade secrets”, through signs, folders and various other screen-based displays.

An extensive tour through the passive house village shows all building-types, techniques and building materials. 

But also company independent advice isn't missed out in our Probewohnen® try-before-you-buy scheme. You will receive information, which you can apply for your planned construction or renovation project. Success guaranteed!
